From the branches in the mountains to the European market, Zhejiang Province's first batch of exported waxberries cleared customs this year

In early summer, light rain infiltrates the mountains and fields of southwestern Zhejiang. In the contiguous Yangmei planting base in Qingtian County, Lishui City, Zhejiang Province, the greenhouses are neatly arranged, and the branches are adorned with plump, purple red Yangmei. On May 15th, a batch of 100 boxes and 260 kilograms of Qingtian Yangmei were successfully cleared under customs supervision and will then fly from Wenzhou Port to Madrid, Spain. This is the first batch of Yangmei exported from Zhejiang Province this year.

As a fruit with distinct regional characteristics in China, Yangmei is highly favored in the European market. Qingtian is a 'hometown of overseas Chinese'. After learning about the listing of Yangmei in their hometown, overseas Chinese have consulted and initiated group purchases. These Yangmei have not yet been shipped out and have already completed pre-sales locally, "said Jin Suhong, the person in charge of Lishui Jitao Ecological Agriculture Development Co., Ltd. Currently, the company has also received purchasing intentions from countries such as France, the Netherlands, and Italy.

This year's Yangmei export season came earlier than usual, almost half a month earlier, "said Zhu Weihao, the head of the inspection department of Lishui Customs. Based on the export data of the customs in the past five years, the first Yangmei exports in Zhejiang Province in previous years were mostly concentrated in late May and early June. At present, the overall growth of Qingtian Yangmei is stable, and the export cycle is expected to continue until July

As the "top stream" of exported fruits in Zhejiang Province, Yangmei's confidence in taking the "high-end route" comes from its excellent quality and freshness. Just before the export of this batch of Yangmei, the Qingtian Yangmei Intelligent Sorting Center was approved for use. After the fresh bayberries are harvested, they are directly sent to the sorting center to automatically determine the core indicators such as fruit shape, size, and sugar content, achieving intelligent operation throughout the entire process from harvesting to storage. The entire process strictly follows export standards and specifications for processing, with a maximum daily processing capacity of about 6000 pounds.

Fresh fruits going out to sea, timeliness is the key. Lishui Customs focuses on the export timeliness requirements of fresh agricultural products, piloting the implementation of batch inspection and quarantine reform. It conducts on-site inspections on the first batch of Yangmei declared for export in the same "inspection batch unit", and conducts document verification for subsequent declarations. It also collaborates with Wenzhou Customs and other port customs to optimize the customs clearance process and shorten the clearance time, fully safeguarding the rapid release and efficient export of fresh Yangmei.
