Ningbo Customs supports the export of bamboo, wood and grass products from "half a day on the road" to "half an hour on the line"
On May 15th, in the modern factory of Ningbo Bofan Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd. located in the Binhai Economic Development Zone of Cixi City, Zhang Rongping, a staff member of the International Logistics Department, connected with Cixi Customs officers under Ningbo Customs through her mobile phone for remote inspection operations.
This batch of goods is going to be exported to Panama, and the customer's order is quite urgent. Previously, we needed to make an appointment with customs officers in advance to conduct on-site inspections. Now, we have opened the 'single window' for international trade and can carry out remote inspections at any time, "said Zhang Rongping. The company uses waste wood chips to make wooden toilet seats that are highly favored by overseas customers, and has nearly 50 invention patents and utility model patents related to finished wooden toilet seats, equipment, processes, etc. By 2025, overseas sales will reach 2.9 million sets, with an annual export value of 130 million yuan, exported to more than 40 countries and regions including Canada, Germany, France, Denmark, and the United Kingdom.
At present, Ningbo Bofan Sanitary Ware Co., Ltd. can use 40 tons of waste wood chips every day to produce 15000 sets of toilet seats. Faced with the increasingly strong market demand, the company has invested over 20 million yuan to implement automation transformation of its production line and relocate to a modern factory area, thus putting forward new requirements for the timely inspection of export orders.
Remote inspection has effectively solved the problems faced by enterprises, which is a beneficial reform for customs to promote the use of intelligent and information-based means and improve the efficiency of local inspection, "said the person in charge of Cixi Customs
The international market is constantly changing, and Ningbo Customs is actively exploring the reform of the supervision mode for exporting bamboo, wood, and grass products, and implementing classified supervision. For first-time export enterprises, this department guides them to establish and improve quality and safety management, as well as epidemic prevention and control systems. At the same time, the policy of hierarchical management for bamboo, wood and grass enterprises has been implemented, and the classification level has been dynamically adjusted based on factors such as enterprise credit rating and export scale. Since the beginning of this year, 34 new registered enterprises have been added. In addition, the customs also implements facilitation measures such as reminding enterprises of the expiration of their registration and issuing certificates quickly, and tracks the dynamics of relevant national or regional technical standards and quarantine measures for bamboo, wood, and grass products, issuing timely reminders to enterprises. In the first four months of this year, Ningbo Customs supervised the export of 22000 batches of bamboo, wood, and grass products, with a value of approximately 1.944 billion yuan.
