Fujian Province's canned food export scale ranked first in the country in the first quarter of this year

The canned food industry is a traditional export industry in Fujian Province. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of the level of deep processing of agricultural products and the sustained recovery of overseas market demand, the canned food industry in Fujian Province has developed rapidly, and the export scale has expanded rapidly, becoming a category with outstanding potential in Fujian Province's foreign trade exports. According to statistics from Fuzhou Customs, in the first quarter of 2026, Fujian Province's canned food exports amounted to 690 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3%, ranking first in the country in terms of export scale.

ASEAN is the largest market for canned food exports in Fujian Province. In the first quarter, Fujian Province exported canned food to ASEAN worth 190 million yuan, an increase of 9.1%, accounting for 27.2% of the total value of canned food exports in Fujian Province during the same period. Exports to South Korea and Australia have grown rapidly, increasing by 43.9% and 31.8% respectively.

Private enterprises are the "main force" of canned food exports in Fujian Province. In the first quarter, private enterprises in Fujian Province exported canned food worth 620 million yuan, an increase of 7.3%, accounting for over 90% of the total value of canned food exports in Fujian Province during the same period, reaching 90.6%.

Canned vegetables are the supporting force for canned food exports in Fujian Province. In the first quarter, canned vegetable exports reached 510 million yuan, an increase of 1.1%, accounting for 74.8% of the total value of canned food exports in Fujian Province during the same period. Among them, canned mushrooms and bamboo shoots were exported for 200 million and 150 million yuan respectively, accounting for 50.4% of the total export value of canned food in Fujian Province during the same period.
