As Mother's Day approaches, the "one-stop" service center of Yunnan Central Customs under Kunming Customs is bustling with activity. On May 7th, customs officers are conducting pre export inspection and quarantine on a batch of fresh roses and green stone bamboo flowers weighing 2.3 tons that have been declared for export, carefully checking for any diseases, pests, leaf rot, or stem damage. After passing the inspection and quarantine, the customs officers immediately issue relevant certificates. These roses were immediately released and flown overseas on the same day's flight, along with holiday wishes, to the other side of the ocean.

Many countries have the custom of giving flowers as gifts on Mother's Day. Recently, the export volume of roses, carnations, and other gifts as main flowers, as well as green stone bamboo flowers and other complementary flowers, has increased significantly, "said Wang Qiuju, the person in charge of Lynch Trading (Yunnan) Co., Ltd." Thanks to the efficient and smooth customs inspection process, we can basically declare, inspect and release on the same day, and take off on the same day. The quality of flowers is more guaranteed, and our overseas orders can also be stably supplied

Quality is the lifeline of fresh cut flower exports. In order to safeguard the high-quality export of "Yunhua" from the source, the Central Yunnan Customs has extended its regulatory services to the front end of the industrial chain, regularly visiting planting bases and processing enterprises, guiding enterprises to improve their quality management systems, strengthen green prevention and control of pests and diseases, optimize post harvest processing procedures, promote enterprises to establish a standardized traceability system for the entire chain from seedling cultivation, planting, processing, packaging to cold chain transportation, and help continuously improve the quality of "Yunhua".

We have innovatively implemented the 'remote local inspection' model to guide enterprises in opening boxes, sampling, and inspecting fresh cut flowers online, shortening the waiting period from the previous' working day unit 'to' hourly unit ', effectively reducing the transportation and warehousing costs of enterprises, "said Geng Rui, Deputy Director of the Supervision Department of the Central Yunnan Customs. Through the "remote video inspection" mode, customs do not need to send staff to the scene. They can remotely complete the quarantine and inspection of exported fresh cut flowers by connecting to the enterprise workshop through high-definition video, greatly reducing the inspection time before the export of fresh cut flowers.

In the first four months of this year, Yunnan Customs supervised and released over 800 million yuan worth of fresh cut flowers exported from Yunnan, which were sold to 37 countries and regions. Yunling Flower Fragrance went global. (Dai Weiqi/Text)
