Fujian ships are busy setting sail for the new year - the export value of Fujian ships in January and February reached a new historical high for the same period
At the beginning of the year and in the early spring, major ports along the coast of Fujian have achieved a strong start in ship exports with the intensive delivery and departure of batches of high value-added new ships. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, from January to February, Fujian exported ships worth 4.11 billion yuan, setting a new historical high for the same period and increasing by 2.1 times year-on-year. Among them, exports in February amounted to 800 million yuan, a tenfold increase compared to the same period last year.
Behind the booming development of Fujian's ship exports is the continuous efforts of a group of internationally competitive enterprises. According to statistics, from January to February, state-owned enterprises in Fujian exported ships worth 3.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.4 times, accounting for over 90% of the province's total ship export value during the same period. During the same period, private enterprises exported ships worth 280 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 39.4%; Foreign invested enterprises exported ships worth 26.24 million yuan, driving a 2 percentage point increase in the province's ship exports.
From bulk carriers to liquid cargo ships, Fujian's export ship categories continue to enrich, with both technological content and added value increasing simultaneously. According to officials from Xiamen Customs, bulk carriers are the main types of ships exported from Fujian. In January and February, Fujian exported bulk cargo ships worth 1.78 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.2 times, accounting for over 40% of the province's total ship export value during the same period. During the same period, liquid cargo ships showed explosive growth, with the export scale increasing from 8.4 million yuan in the same period last year to 1.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 153.8 times, accounting for 31.6% of the total export value of ships in the province during the same period.
With the continuous deepening and consolidation of foreign economic and trade cooperation, the layout of Fujian's ship export market is becoming increasingly diversified. Customs data shows that the European Union holds an important share in the ship export market in Fujian. In January and February, Fujian exported ships worth 1.08 billion yuan, a significant increase of 3.6 times year-on-year, accounting for 26.2% of the province's total ship export value during the same period. During the same period, emerging markets such as Latin America and Africa became hot selling markets for Fujian's ship exports. Fujian exported ships to Latin America and Africa worth 870 million yuan and 750 million yuan respectively, an increase of 38.1% and 9.5 times year-on-year, accounting for nearly 40% of the total.
In order to fully activate the surging momentum of Fujian's ship exports, Xiamen Customs has released customs policy dividends, interpreted preferential policies such as RCEP for enterprises point-to-point, guided the entire process of material import, unit consumption declaration and other links, and implemented facilitation measures such as early declaration and appointment overtime to help Fujian ships set sail.
