China Laos railway cross-border trade in goods exceeded 80 billion yuan

Kunming, April 7 (Reporter Ye Chuanzeng) Data from Mengla Customs, affiliated to Kunming Customs, showed that since the opening of the China Laos railway to traffic, as of April 7, the value of import and export goods had exceeded 80 billion yuan, the categories of import and export goods had expanded from more than 500 to more than 3800, serving more than 6000 enterprises nationwide and radiating 19 countries and regions, such as Laos and Thailand. The "golden corridor" continued to burst out, injecting momentum into high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and promoting regional connectivity, mutual benefit and win-win results.

Kunming Customs has launched 16 specific measures to optimize the port business environment and promote the facilitation of cross-border trade, promoted the implementation of the eight actions of high-level service opening to the outside world such as "unblocking the Silk Road" to promote the high-quality development of Yunnan's foreign trade, implemented the reform of the regulatory model such as "railway express", "release before inspection", and made every effort to ensure the efficient operation of the "Lancang Mekong Express", "China Laos Railway+China Europe Railway" international freight trains.

In the first quarter of this year, the import and export value of China Laos railway reached 6.81 billion yuan, up 62.7% year on year, hitting a new high over the same period of the past years. In terms of import, the value of dry and fresh fruits imported through the China Laos Railway was 500 million yuan, a double increase over the same period last year, and the import of grain, metal ores and mineral sands and other bulk commodities was 1.13 billion yuan, a 34.6% increase over the same period last year.

In terms of exports, the "new three types" of exports by the China Laos railway amounted to 1.3 billion yuan, a 10.4 times year-on-year increase, of which the export of photovoltaic products amounted to 1.19 billion yuan, a 43.2 times year-on-year increase, and the "new" content of foreign trade continued to rise. The China Laos Railway is becoming a two-way trade efficient channel of "Made in China moving south and Southeast Asian specialties moving north".
