This batch of American eel seedlings has completed a 14 day quarantine and all have passed the inspection. They are ready to be gradually released to the surrounding areas of Fujian to ensure the safe and orderly development of "water spring plowing" in 2026.

Relying on the high-quality water resources and mature aquaculture facilities of Mulan River, Putian area has become the main production and sales hub for domestic eel seedlings, with over ten million imported eel seedlings sold to various parts of the country every year. At the Hongshun Entry Aquatic Animal Quarantine Site in Hanjiang District, Putian City, Yao Jianquan, the person in charge of the enterprise, is shuttling between rows of standardized constant temperature isolation pools, carefully checking the water quality indicators and seedling growth status. The fine eel seedlings in the pool swim happily in the clean water. Thanks to the convenient local logistics system and the precise and pragmatic assistance measures of the customs, the company has successfully imported multiple batches of American eel seedlings this year, with a survival rate of over 98% for each batch, which is highly favored by farmers. Currently, there are about 3 million eel seedlings in the quarantine area, which will be delivered and shipped according to orders after the quarantine period expires, "he pointed to the well growing eel seedlings in the pool.

To ensure the stable and smooth supply chain of American eel seedlings, Putian Customs implements "one enterprise, one policy" precise services, guides enterprises to improve the epidemic prevention layout of isolation sites and factories in advance, maintains breeding hardware facilities, and fully responds to the peak import of eel seedlings. At the same time, guide enterprises to standardize the whole process of isolated breeding, refine the management of key links such as water temperature control, water quality detection, site disinfection and sterilization, strictly implement the animal health and epidemic prevention and seedling transportation traceability system, and ensure the safe and efficient transportation of high-quality seedlings to various breeding bases.
