Beijing, March 19 (Xinhua) -- The spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, He Yong, stated on the 19th that China and the United States, guided by the important consensus of the two heads of state, have conducted frank, in-depth, and constructive exchanges and consultations on economic and trade issues of mutual concern, such as tariff arrangements, promoting bilateral trade and investment, and maintaining existing consultation consensus. Some new consensus has been formed and consultations will continue.
At the routine press conference held by the Ministry of Commerce on the same day, a reporter asked: Did the Paris Economic and Trade Consultation between China and the United States explore rare earths and what new decisions have been made on rare earth export controls? Is there a new consensus on the framework of long-term trade negotiations between China and the United States, as well as the US allowing Chinese companies to invest in the US?
He Yongqian said that from March 15th to 16th local time, He Lifeng, the Chinese leader in Sino US economic and trade affairs and Vice Premier of the State Council, held economic and trade consultations with the US leader, US Treasury Secretary Bessent, and Trade Representative Greer in Paris, France. Both sides agree to study and establish a working mechanism for expanding economic and trade cooperation, continue to play a good role in the China US economic and trade consultation mechanism, strengthen dialogue and communication, properly manage differences, expand practical cooperation, and promote the sustained stability and improvement of bilateral economic and trade relations. Strengthen dialogue and communication
