Hainan Free Trade Port Hong Kong Promotion Conference focuses on the win-win situation between Hainan and Hong Kong
Hong Kong, March 18 (Xinhua) -- On the occasion of the full launch of the island wide closure operation of Hainan Free Trade Port for three months, the "Dual Port Joint Cooperation and Win Win" Hainan Free Trade Port Hong Kong Media Symposium and Promotion Conference, hosted by the Hainan Provincial News Office, was held in Hong Kong on the 18th. The event focuses on the latest progress in the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port, exploring the prospects for deepening cooperation and seeking common development between Hainan and Hong Kong in multiple fields.
Wang Bin, member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, attended the event and delivered a speech, stating that Hainan is deeply implementing the deployment of the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, focusing on five major areas: economic and trade investment, financial services, secure and orderly flow of data, cultural and tourism consumption, and talent and professional services. It is accelerating the construction of the Hainan Hong Kong Economic Cooperation Demonstration Zone, expanding the achievements of one-way recognition of Hong Kong's professional qualifications, promoting the deep integration of the industrial chain, supply chain, and value chain, and jointly creating a new open pattern of "dual port linkage and sea going".
Wen Zhuofei, Vice Chairman of the Hong Kong Federation of Journalists, stated that there is enormous potential for cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong in areas such as culture, tourism, media, healthcare, and higher education. He suggested that the two places strengthen exchanges and achieve complementary advantages. In the field of medical and health care, Hainan has a superior environment and relatively low costs, which can complement Hong Kong's advanced medical resources and provide more elderly care options for Hong Kong's elderly.
Lou Bing, Deputy General Manager of Hong Kong Dagong Wenhui Media Group, stated that the cooperation between Hainan and Hong Kong can deepen its layout in areas such as industrial synergy, financial services, tourism and health care, and youth exchange. By utilizing Hainan's "zero tariff" and value-added processing policies, a cross-border industrial chain of "Hong Kong orders, Hainan production, and global sales" can be constructed to promote the industrialization of Hong Kong scientific research achievements in Hainan.
At the meeting, representatives from multiple Hong Kong media outlets actively spoke about the future prospects and prospects of cooperation between Hong Kong and Hainan, and actively asked questions on relevant topics of concern to various sectors in Hong Kong. Officials from the Hainan Provincial Party Committee's Deep Reform Office (Free Trade Port Working Committee Office) and the Provincial Department of Finance introduced Hainan's measures on the impact of the closure operation, tax reform, and industrial complementarity between Hainan and Hong Kong on site.
