Recently, Huangdao Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, conducted water gauge weighing on a batch of imported iron ore upon application. It was found that the declared weight of the bulk iron ore was 60300 tons, with a shortage of 862.2 tons and a shortage rate of 14.3 ‰, far exceeding the international shortage claim convention of 5 ‰.

After reviewing the shortage and weight situation, the customs promptly notified the domestic consignee and promptly issued a weight certificate, recovering economic losses of over 400000 yuan for the enterprise. (Su Qun/Wen)
