Q: We have noticed that the Ministry of Commerce has issued two announcements launching two trade barrier investigations into the measures and practices of the United States. Can you introduce the relevant information?
Answer: The Office of the United States Trade Representative launched a 301 investigation against 16 economies including China on March 12, Beijing time, citing "overcapacity", and another 301 investigation against 60 economies including China on March 13, citing "failure to effectively prohibit the import of forced labor products". Next, the Ministry of Commerce will promote the investigation of barriers against the United States in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Foreign Trade Law and the Rules for Investigation of Foreign Trade Barriers, and take corresponding measures based on the investigation results to resolutely defend its legitimate rights and interests.
