Customs at the gate seized a passenger who used a shower gel bottle to hide 4 bottles of Maotai liquor entering the country

On February 26th, a mainland tourist smuggled 4 bottles of Maotai liquor into China by hiding in a shower gel bottle, and was caught on the spot by the Gongbei Customs' Zhakou Customs.
At around 19:30 on the same day, a man named Wei entered through the customs' "green channel" at the Gongbei Port Inspection Hall and was intercepted by on-site customs officers. The customs officer found that there were 4 bottles of shower gel in the shopping bag he carried with him, and there were no signs of opening or using the bottle mouth, but there were obvious gaps at the bottom of the bottle. After opening them one by one, it was found that each shower gel bottle was stuffed with a bottle of Maotai liquor, totaling 4 bottles.
Customs reminds that according to relevant regulations, those who evade customs supervision by hiding and bring goods that should be taxed according to law into the country are considered smuggling activities. If the circumstances are serious enough to constitute a crime, they will be held criminally responsible in accordance with the law. (Written by Zhu Weijun)
