Recently, under the supervision of Zhuzhou Customs under Changsha Customs, a "Hunan Guangdong Africa" railway sea intermodal special train carrying machinery, equipment, solar panels and other goods departed from the China Africa Economic and Trade Land Port in Zhuzhou, Hunan, sounding its horn. After passing through Nansha Port in Guangzhou, it changed to take a long-distance cargo ship to export to Africa. According to statistics, the "Hunan Guangdong Africa" railway sea intermodal international train has operated a total of 2148 trains since September 2021, as of the end of February 2026.
As a unique logistics channel for non local areas in Hunan, the "Hunan Guangdong Africa" railway sea intermodal international train is mainly centered in Zhuzhou, transported by railway to coastal ports in Guangdong, and then sent to global markets.
In order to improve operational efficiency, Changsha Customs has deepened cooperation and mutual recognition with Guangzhou Customs in customs clearance. Coastal ports such as Nansha Port in Guangzhou have been moved to Hunan International Land Port. Hunan enterprises can complete all customs clearance procedures within the province, saving about 50% of the time for goods to be transferred at the port and reducing logistics costs by nearly 30%.
The person in charge of Hunan "Xiangyue Africa" International Logistics Co., Ltd. introduced that since 2025, the transportation time from Zhuzhou, Hunan to Nansha Port in Guangzhou has been reduced to less than 20 hours, and the transportation time to Mombasa Port in East Africa has been shortened to 23 days.
In addition, Changsha Customs actively participates in the formulation of railway transportation standards and technical specifications for large-scale complete sets of equipment, ensuring that "Hunan Guangdong Africa" successively operates special trains for characteristic products such as ceramics and engineering machinery, and continuously optimizes the export structure.
