Fresh food consolidation has landed in Hunan
On March 12th, the first batch of fresh goods that adopted the "fresh food consolidation" customs supervision mode were sent from Yongzhou, Hunan to Hong Kong, marking the implementation of this reform measure in Hunan.
At around 4 pm on the same day, 10.11 tons of locally produced goods such as oranges, ginger, potatoes, and fresh eggs were inspected and qualified by the Yongzhou Customs officers under Changsha Customs. They were loaded onto a cold chain truck and departed from Jiangyong County, Yongzhou City in a "fresh food consolidation" mode. This is the first time that multiple types of agricultural and food products such as fruits, vegetables, poultry and eggs have been consolidated and supplied to the port in the same vehicle, which can further improve the efficiency of agricultural product transportation and reduce logistics costs. The next day, the goods of the vehicle cleared customs at Wenjindu Port in Shenzhen and entered the Hong Kong market.
Hunan is a major province supplying agricultural products to Hong Kong. In March 2024, Changsha Customs launched the reform measure of "fruit and vegetable assembly", which enables vegetables and fruits to be centrally shipped by one vehicle. The implementation effect has been good in the past two years. This time, Changsha Customs is exploring the launch of the "Fruit and Vegetable Assembly 2.0 Version", which includes four types of products including vegetables, fruits, aquatic animals, and poultry eggs in the assembly scope. Export enterprises can flexibly assemble goods according to the actual needs of the Hong Kong market.
The person in charge of Hunan Huiyou Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. introduced that multiple types of products are assembled in the same vehicle, and the space utilization rate of cold chain trucks is higher. The single transportation cost can be reduced by about 10% compared to fruit and vegetable assembly. By implementing convenient remote inspection measures, the clearance time can be further reduced by 2-3 hours.
