Cambodia's international trade volume increased by 17.6% year-on-year in the first two months

Phnom Penh, March 10 (Xinhua) -- According to a report released by the Cambodian Customs General Administration on the 10th, Cambodia achieved a total international trade volume of over 11 billion US dollars in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 17.6%.

The report shows that from January to February this year, Cambodia achieved double-digit growth in both imports and exports of goods. Among them, the total export value was 5.228 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 17.2%; The total import value was 5.885 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 18%.

China continues to maintain its position as Cambodia's largest trading partner. The report shows that the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and China reached 3.577 billion US dollars in the first two months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 34.4%. The United States and Vietnam are Cambodia's second and third largest trading partners, with bilateral trade volumes of $2.343 billion and $1.277 billion, respectively.

Other important trading partners of Cambodia include Japan, Thailand, Malaysia, and other countries. Singapore is Cambodia's sixth largest trading partner, and the bilateral trade volume between Cambodia and Singapore has grown significantly in the first two months of this year, reaching 335 million US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 191.5%. Among them, Cambodia's imports from Singapore surged by 209% year-on-year.

The latest report also shows that textile and clothing products remain Cambodia's largest export goods. In the first two months of this year, the export value of this category of products exceeded 1.1 billion US dollars, accounting for 21% of the total export value. Rubber and rubber products, leather products, shoes, furniture, agricultural products, etc. are also Cambodia's main export commodities.
