Many cigarettes are lost

Recently, during a joint inspection by Caofeidian Customs under Shijiazhuang Customs and Tangshan Customs Anti Smuggling Branch, it was discovered that a crew member of an inbound vessel attempted to hide two paper packaging boxes in woven bags and bring them into the country without declaration. After boarding the ship for questioning and on-site inspection, 88 cigarettes totaling 11600 were seized in the packaging box. At present, the case has been transferred to the anti smuggling department for handling.
According to the "Measures for the Supervision of Inbound and Outbound Luggage of the People's Republic of China Customs" and other regulations, inbound passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco duty-free, provided that the total value of their luggage does not exceed the tax-free amount; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco. Carrying cigarettes into the country beyond the prescribed quantity will be dealt with by the customs in accordance with the law.
