On March 8th, under the supervision of Huangdao Customs under Qingdao Customs, the 120000 ton lift floating dock built by China Shipbuilding Group Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. was successfully exported through the "anchorage direct loading" mode and sent to Freeport Port, Bahamas.

This floating dock is a luxury cruise ship maintenance specialized marine equipment designed for Carnival Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. After being put into use, it will become the largest floating dock in the Western Hemisphere and can undertake the world's largest luxury cruise ship dock repair and modification operations, "said Li Zhaoqiang, Business Manager of China Shipbuilding Group Qingdao Beihai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.

Due to the large volume and weight of the floating dock, two large semi submersible ships need to be used for segmented transportation. However, semi submersible ships have a deep draft and cannot directly dock at shipyard docks for operations, posing multiple challenges for enterprises such as "difficult loading and slow customs clearance".

In response to the actual needs of enterprises, Huangdao Customs has tailored a "one ship, one policy" anchorage direct loading supervision plan, allowing enterprises to use tugboats to transport floating docks from the enterprise dock to the inner anchorage for loading, effectively solving the problem of difficulty in directly shipping large marine equipment berths.

We have completed the document review and risk assessment in advance, and with the help of modern equipment such as supervision boats, drones, and intelligent supervision platforms, we have fully supervised the loading operations of two semi submersible ships at the anchorage, quickly processed the exit inspection and release procedures, and achieved 'immediate loading and departure', "said Liu Haitao, head of the Supervision Department of Huangdao Customs Port Supervision Office.

In the Haixi Bay Ship and Ocean Engineering Industrial Base of Qingdao West Coast New Area, there are several shipbuilding and marine engineering manufacturing enterprises such as Beihai Shipbuilding, Offshore Oil Engineering, and Haixi Heavy Machinery, with an annual import and export value exceeding 30 billion yuan. In recent years, Huangdao Customs has focused on the development needs of key industries such as large-scale marine equipment and shipbuilding, continuously releasing the dividends of smart customs construction, promoting convenient measures such as smart telecommunications quarantine, "anchorage direct installation", and "border inspection and release", and helping major countries' heavy equipment go global.
