On March 9th, under the supervision of Wenzhou Customs, a TIR international road transport vehicle loaded with chandeliers departed from the Ruian Selda Customs supervised operation site and headed to Moscow, Russia. This is the 100th TIR vehicle to be launched in Wenzhou in 2026, marking a new high level of opening up to the outside world for the "Silk Road Card Navigation" in southern Zhejiang.
Last year, we sent out over 200 TIR vehicles throughout the year, and this year we achieved our small goal of operating 100 TIR vehicles in the first quarter. This is also based on the accumulation of over a year ago. Now, enterprises exporting to Europe and Central Asia in Wenzhou and surrounding areas are gradually understanding the advantages of TIR. ”Chen Rishang, the person in charge of Wenzhou Juxin Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., introduced that "this year, all 100 of our self operated Zhejiang C vehicles have been put into operation, which can effectively improve the capacity of the TIR fleet in Wenzhou and meet the increasing logistics demand. ”
TIR is an international cross-border road transport logistics model based on the United Nations Convention on International Road Transport, which has advantages such as convenient customs clearance procedures, fast transportation turnover, and flexible mobility. As the first city in the province to implement TIR business, Wenzhou has opened a total of 18 routes to four countries including Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan, and continues to explore new business models such as "TIR+market procurement", "TIR+cross-border e-commerce", and "TIR+bonded", opening up stable and fast international logistics channels for foreign trade enterprises in southern Zhejiang and northern Fujian.
Since the beginning of this year, Wenzhou Customs has actively promoted the iteration and upgrading of intelligent checkpoints in regulatory areas, and expanded the export of high value-added products through TIR on the basis of traditional footwear, clothing, luggage, etc., continuously strengthening the business support of the "fourth logistics channel". Next, Wenzhou Customs will continue to deepen smart supervision, optimize convenience measures, expand routes, enrich business formats, and make every effort to build a TIR international highway transportation hub in southern Zhejiang. With efficient customs clearance, it will empower foreign trade to stabilize scale and optimize structure, injecting stronger momentum into the high-quality development of the local economy. ”Su Yipeng, Deputy Director of the Wenzhou Customs Office in Rui'ao, said.
