On March 1st, the departure tax refund point at Pazhou Port will be put into use

In order to continuously improve the cross-border service functions of the Pazhou area and enhance the convenience of overseas tourists' consumption, the Pazhou Hong Kong Macao Passenger Transport Port (hereinafter referred to as "Pazhou Port") departure tax refund point will be put into trial operation on February 15th and will be officially put into use on March 1st. The Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center, under the jurisdiction of Guangzhou Customs, focuses on upgrading port consumption services, completing equipment configuration and system integration in advance, dynamically optimizing on-site supervision forces, and connecting the entire process of departure tax refund verification to ensure the smooth and smooth operation of departure tax refund points.

Pazhou Port is the only water cross-border passenger port in the central urban area of Guangzhou. It was put into trial operation in April 2023 and passed national acceptance in December 2025. Currently, it has 5 500 ton berths and a shoreline length of about 280 meters. The departure tax refund point at Pazhou Port is located in the core area of the port's departure waiting hall, adjacent to the boarding gate, with a prominent location and smooth flow. Leveraging the advantages of port passenger flow and convenient cross-border water transportation, it provides a "one-stop" departure tax refund verification service for overseas passengers exiting from Pazhou Port, filling the gap in departure tax refund services at Pazhou Port.

During the Spring Festival holiday, Pazhou Port experienced a peak in cross-border travel and tourism consumption. Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Center Customs coordinated the departure tax refund service and Spring Festival travel clearance guarantee, optimized on-site flow guidance, and fully utilized intelligent devices such as travel inspection intelligent inspection stations and AI flow control machines to optimize the "sea sky intermodal" mode and provide "Guangzhou check-in, baggage direct hanging, Hong Kong boarding" services, fully ensuring efficient and smooth customs clearance at the port during the holiday period, convenient and orderly tax refund business, and safeguarding the safe and smooth travel of passengers with high-quality regulatory services.
