Chuzhou honey 'brewed' yields a good summer harvest
Recently, a batch of honey weighing 132 tons produced and processed by Haohao Bee Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Haohao Bee Industry") located in Mingguang City, Chuzhou, Anhui Province was sent to Belgium by sea after being quickly verified by the Chuzhou Customs under the jurisdiction of Hefei Customs through paperless document review.
At present, the leading honey export enterprise in Chuzhou City is implementing the "company+cooperative+beekeeper" organizational model, integrating more than 700 beekeeper resources in Chuzhou City and its surrounding areas, implementing standardized management of bee species, breeding, epidemic prevention, and raw material procurement, and supporting the construction of registered beekeeping bases to achieve closed-loop operation of the entire process of breeding, storage, deep processing, and export.
The high temperature and high humidity environment in summer brings many challenges to honey exports. Natural honey exposed to high temperatures for a long time and stored improperly may cause problems such as color darkening, flavor loss, and fluctuations in hydroxymethylfurfural indicators, "said Wu Haosu, manager of the foreign trade department of Haohao Bee Industry.
In response to the characteristics of large export orders, dense batches, and short delivery cycles of honey in summer, Chuzhou Customs has established a full chain service system of "source control+process guidance+fast customs clearance+technical and trade assistance". It has gone deep into the bee breeding bases in its jurisdiction, and proposed optimization suggestions in terms of raw material traceability, production processing, and record control in accordance with the requirements of export beekeeping base filing management. It has guided enterprises to improve the feeding management system in the breeding process and strictly control quality and safety issues such as heavy metal pollution in honey. The customs clearance facilitates the acceleration of the industry by opening a dedicated "green channel" for summer agricultural and food product inspection, promoting "advance declaration, appointment inspection, and rapid release" services, significantly reducing customs clearance time and lowering enterprise operating costs.
In addition, to assist enterprises in responding to foreign technical trade measures, Chuzhou Customs continues to collect and sort out the latest laws, regulations, and revisions of technical trade measures in major export target markets such as the European Union, Japan, and Southeast Asia. Through diversified service forms such as online policy lectures and offline thematic discussions, Chuzhou Customs carefully interprets various standards and specifications to export enterprises, reducing the risks of export returns and port delays. In the first half of 2026, the export value of honey from Chuzhou City was 47.07 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 29.74%.
