Customs at Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport seized 16800 illegally carried tobacco products by passengers

Recently, the customs of Dalian Zhoushuizi Airport seized 16800 units of tobacco products illegally carried by passengers through the inbound travel inspection channel.

During the supervision of the luggage and belongings of passengers on inbound flights, customs officers found that the machine inspection image of the luggage and belongings of a passenger who selected the "no declaration channel" for entry was abnormal. After unpacking and inspection, customs officers found 79 cigarettes and 5 electronic cigarette cartridges in the passenger's luggage, totaling 16800 pieces. After verification, the passenger had a record of being seized by customs for carrying excessive cigarettes.

According to the "Measures for the Supervision of Inbound and Outbound Luggage of the People's Republic of China Customs" and other regulations, inbound passengers are allowed to carry 400 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 20 cigars, or 500 grams of tobacco duty-free, provided that the total value of their luggage does not exceed the tax-free amount; Among them, passengers entering from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and Macao Special Administrative Region are exempt from carrying 200 cigarettes (including heated cigarettes), 10 cigars, or 250 grams of tobacco.
