Zhejiang's exports to Russia exceed 40 billion, ranking first in the country

On May 18th, a container loaded with fabrics and textiles departed from Jinhua and arrived at Erenhot, Inner Mongolia by train. After changing its cargo here, it was transported out via international road transport (TIR) mode. This is the first "Railway Public Multimodal Transport+TIR" export business in Zhejiang Province, and also the first "Jinhua Erenhot Moscow" export railway public multimodal transport business in the province, opening up a new cross-border logistics channel for exports to Russia in central Zhejiang.
According to statistics from Hangzhou Customs, from January to April this year, Zhejiang Province exported 40.15 billion yuan to Russia, setting a new historical high and ranking first in the country. Behind this impressive performance report is not only the competitiveness of Zhejiang's "hardcore" products, but also the increasingly smooth and efficient logistics channels.
From the perspective of export commodity structure, mechanical and electrical products are still the "ballast stone" for stabilizing foreign trade. In the first four months, Zhejiang exported 22.98 billion yuan worth of mechanical and electrical products to Russia, accounting for 57.2% of the total export value. Exports of household appliances, automobiles, valves, and other products all achieved double-digit growth.
Consumer products have also demonstrated strong market resilience, with export growth of 18.7%. With the wave of green travel sweeping the globe, low-carbon transportation tools such as scooters are highly sought after in the Russian market. Recently, 2892 scooters produced by Lanxi Putai Industry and Trade Co., Ltd. were successfully packed and packaged after customs supervision. Our scooters have fully considered the usage habits and road conditions of local users in terms of design and performance, and have won the recognition of Russian customers, "said Li Shuiying, a salesperson at Putai. From January to April, the company exported over 40 million yuan to Russia, a significant increase of 68.1% year-on-year.
Behind the rapid growth of "Putai" exports is not a smooth road. We encountered many difficulties in certification and standard integration at the beginning, "Li Shuiying recalled. Faced with this challenge, Jinhua Customs took the initiative to provide technical trade measures and policy guidance services on-site, strengthen quality and safety risk monitoring and early warning information push, guide enterprises to adjust production processes, ensure products meet Russian market access requirements and technical standards, and help enterprises smoothly go global.
The performance of Yiwu, the "world supermarket", is particularly eye-catching. From January to April, Yiwu exported 3.58 billion yuan to Russia, a significant increase of 56.9% year-on-year, reaching a new high in the same period in nearly three years, ranking first in the growth rate among Yiwu's major export markets. The export growth rate of clothing, bags, cultural products, and sports goods to Russia has exceeded 80%.
The continuous innovation of logistics channels provides a solid guarantee for the acceleration of "Made in Zhejiang" going global. In addition to the significant increase of 41.1% in exports to Russia in the first four months of the "Yixin Europe" China Europe freight train, the TIR international road transportation mode has also seen a new breakthrough. The "Railway Public Multimodal Transport+TIR" model that has been implemented in Jinhua not only leverages the low-cost advantages of long-distance and high-capacity railways, but also adds the convenience of TIR's "one car direct, no need to open boxes and inspect along the way" customs clearance, greatly reducing transit stops and loading and unloading links. Chen Rishang, the general manager of Wenzhou Juxin International Multimodal Transport Port, the organizer and operator of the "Railway+TIR Card Shipping" business, said, "Compared with ordinary international railway transportation, this mode can accelerate the entire process by more than a month; significantly reduce costs compared to the entire road transportation, and truly achieve dual optimization of time efficiency and cost
The relevant person in charge of Hangzhou Customs said that next, Hangzhou Customs will continue to deepen the regulatory reform of multimodal transport, make good use of TIR international customs clearance rules, constantly optimize the regulatory process, promote convenient measures such as booking customs clearance and delayed service based on the promotion of "railway express" and "direct shipment to Hong Kong", continue to expand multimodal transport logistics channels, help Zhejiang's characteristic products better "go global", and inject new momentum into economic and trade cooperation between Zhejiang and countries and regions along the "the Belt and Road".
