The export freight volume of the China Europe freight train from Guangzhou International Port has exceeded 1 million tons
On April 15th, under the supervision of Guangzhou Customs, a China Europe freight train loaded with over 400 tons of electric ovens, coffee machines, and other goods slowly departed from Guangzhou International Port and exited through Erenhot Port. It is expected to arrive in Europe in about 16 days. Since the launch of the China Europe freight train in 2022, Guangzhou Customs has supervised the export cargo volume of the Guangzhou International Port China Europe freight train, exceeding 1 million tons, reaching 1.004 million tons, with 1566 trains in operation and 146800 standard containers shipped.
As the largest national railway freight station in southern China, Guangzhou International Port officially opened as a station for the China Europe freight train in August 2022, serving as the main hub for the Guangzhou assembly center of the China Europe freight train.
At the beginning of its opening, the Guangzhou International Port China Europe freight train mainly exported labor-intensive low value-added products such as clothing, shoes, and hats. With the upgrading of China's manufacturing structure, the export goods are also iterating. Currently, high value-added products such as new energy vehicles, smart home appliances, and photovoltaic modules account for more than 50%. Currently, the types of goods transported by the Guangzhou International Port China Europe freight train have expanded from 20 categories and more than 2000 types of goods to 79 categories and more than 10000 types of goods. The types of freight trains include cross-border e-commerce, new energy vehicles, white goods and other boutique special trains.
To ensure the efficient and orderly operation of the China Europe freight train, Guangzhou Customs continues to deepen the construction of a smart customs, vigorously promoting facilitation measures such as "railway fast customs clearance", multimodal transport transfer, and "manifest consolidation", simplifying the customs clearance process, and reducing the operating time at the place of departure by about 30%. Relying on mechanisms such as the "Customs Director Contacting Enterprises", guide enterprises to fully enjoy the preferential policy of "China Europe freight reduction for imported domestic sections of the China Europe freight train", connect with enterprise needs, and promote the precise implementation of policies.
At present, the Guangzhou International Port China Europe freight train has formed a total of 19 stable routes with "14 exits and 5 arrivals", connecting more than 20 countries around the world and providing efficient and stable international logistics channels for more than 4000 foreign trade enterprises.
Guangzhou Customs will continue to deepen regulatory reforms, use the China Europe freight train hub to drive industrial agglomeration, strengthen the cultivation of "hub+" industries, and inject customs strength into the high-quality development of foreign trade in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.
