Science and Technology Daily: Heavy container inspection robots are on duty at Zhoushan Port in Ningbo
On March 11th, it was learned from Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group Co., Ltd. that the Meishan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port has recently applied inspection assistance robots to the automatic shooting and recognition tasks of container numbers and lead seal numbers at the port. This is the first in the country to realize the embodied intelligent application of customs heavy container inspection platform in ports, which helps to promote the intelligent and efficient upgrading of heavy container inspection business.
In recent years, the container throughput of Meishan Port Area has continued to rise, with an average annual increase of over 10% in inspection workload. Ningbo Port Information and Communication Co., Ltd. collaborated with staff from Ningbo Meidong Container Terminal Co., Ltd. to go deep into the front line of the port area, repeatedly debug and optimize, and successfully built a crane inspection auxiliary robot system based on the "sail riding" AI model. Customs staff can issue operational instructions through relevant systems, and the inspection assistance robot can independently complete the path planning and safe obstacle avoidance of the target container. With high-definition cameras and AI recognition algorithms, it can accurately collect container number and lead seal number information. The image records of the entire homework process are synchronously sent to the customs, forming a traceable and verifiable complete supervision chain. After the customs officer verifies the quality of the photos and confirms them, the dock operator can cooperate to complete the unpacking and overturning operation.
The robot has already verified all the container information in advance, reducing the opening time to 20 minutes and greatly improving the efficiency of opening and reversing boxes, "said Zhang Wenzhi, a customs officer from Meishan Customs Inspection Department. The data shows that the current accuracy rate of box number recognition for inspection assisted robots exceeds 99%. In the case of three inspection assistance robots working simultaneously, the work that used to take 4-6 people more than 1 hour to complete can be compressed to be completed within 20 minutes.
It is reported that the successful application of robots this time is an innovative practice of Zhejiang Haigang Investment and Operation Group Co., Ltd., Ningbo Zhoushan Port Group Co., Ltd., and Ningbo Customs to deepen customs port cooperation and promote the construction of smart ports. Next, relevant units will continue to deepen the application of intelligent inspection technology, continuously optimize the accuracy of AI recognition algorithms, improve the human-machine collaborative scheduling mechanism, and further expand the application boundaries of embodied intelligence in more scenarios in ports.
