The 12th meeting of the China Serbia Government Economic and Trade Joint Committee was held in Beijing
On December 18th, the 12th meeting of the China Serbia Government Economic and Trade Joint Committee was held in Beijing. Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs of Serbia, Mesarovich, and Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade Lazarevic, who came to China to attend the meeting. Vice Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations Ling Ji presided over the meeting with Serbia.
Wang Wentao stated that in recent years, under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, the economic and trade relations between China and Serbia have flourished, and the free trade agreement has driven rapid growth in bilateral trade. Chinese enterprises have achieved fruitful results in investing in Serbia, and large-scale project cooperation has been smoothly promoted. The smooth opening of the Serbian section of the Hungary Serbia Railway is a major achievement of the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" between the two countries. The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the CPC mapped out a grand blueprint for China's development in the next five years. The "15th Five Year Plan" proposal provides new opportunities for strengthening cooperation with countries around the world, including Serbia. China is willing to work with Serbia to actively implement the consensus reached by the two heads of state, strengthen the connection between the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the "Serbia 2035" development plan, give full play to the role of the mechanism of the mixed economic and trade committee of the two countries and its investment working group, tap the potential for cooperation in various fields, and promote the deepening and implementation of bilateral economic and trade cooperation.
Serbia stated that China is the most important economic and trade partner. Thanks to Chinese investment, the Serbian economy has continued to grow and people's livelihoods have been continuously improved in recent years. Serbia has always actively promoted the high-quality co construction of the "the Belt and Road", supported the cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries, and is committed to creating a good business environment for Chinese enterprises to operate in Serbia. Serbia is willing to implement the important economic and trade consensus between the two heads of state and China, deepen cooperation in trade, investment, infrastructure construction and other fields, and welcome Chinese enterprises to increase investment in Serbia's automobile, new energy, processing and manufacturing industries.
Both sides positively evaluated the cooperation achievements since the last session of the Economic and Trade Commission, and agreed to further release the dividends of the bilateral free trade agreement, hold the first meeting of the investment working group as soon as possible, strengthen investment cooperation in green economy, new energy vehicles and other fields, promote trade and investment integration, and enhance cooperation in the subsequent operation of the Hungary Serbia railway and the Serbia 2027 professional World Expo. After the meeting, both parties jointly signed the meeting minutes.
