Gansu private enterprises' foreign trade rises by 55%

Recently, 18 tons of branched chain amino acids produced by Gansu Liangwei Bioengineering Co., Ltd. were successfully exported. This batch of products is mainly made from Pingliang local corn starch, which is fermented and synthesized through glucose culture medium, achieving the transformation and upgrading from agricultural raw materials to high-end pharmaceutical raw materials. The 'value leap' achieved by this private enterprise is a vivid epitome of the vitality of Gansu's private foreign trade.

Faced with a complex external environment, private enterprises in Gansu have shown strong vitality since the beginning of this year. In the first 11 months of 2025, the import and export volume of private enterprises in the province reached 26.34 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 55.3%, accounting for 41.8% of the province's total foreign trade value and becoming one of the main drivers of foreign trade growth.

For enterprises with technological advantages but insufficient foreign trade experience, such as the production of essential commodities, Pingliang Customs under Lanzhou Customs has launched the "Customs Director's Door to Door Policy Delivery" activity, selecting business backbones to provide full process "one-on-one" customized services for enterprises, helping them efficiently complete key links such as export qualification application and quality traceability system construction. Actively promoting the "cloud issuance" of inspection and quarantine certificates and self-service printing of certificates of origin, the average time for enterprises to process certificates has been shortened by 0.5 working days. This deep assistance of "one enterprise, one policy" not only enhances the added value of local agricultural products, but also forms a complete industrial chain of "corn planting starch processing biopharmaceutical intermediates international trade", cultivating new momentum for Gansu's foreign trade.

In terms of exporting fresh agricultural and food products, the speed of customs clearance directly affects the efficiency of enterprises. Lanzhou Customs has established a "green channel" for the import and export of fresh and perishable agricultural and food products in Gansu Province, promoting the implementation of "batch inspection (quarantine)" and remote local inspection "negative list" reforms, implementing the "four fast service" model, establishing a "7 × 24 hour" response mechanism, and achieving "immediate reporting, inspection, and release". The "sweet" specialties such as sea buckthorn dried fruits from Qingyang Huachi, NFC apple juice from Pingliang Jingning, and Dunhuang grapes are sent to overseas markets through this "fast lane", which not only extends the industrial chain but also drives farmers to increase their income.

Policy services are also continuously being optimized. Lanzhou Customs vigorously promotes the "intelligent verification+self-service printing" mode of certificate of origin, allowing enterprises to obtain tariff reduction certificates instantly without leaving their homes. In the first 11 months, the value of all kinds of free trade agreement certificates of origin issued by Lanzhou Customs for private enterprises increased significantly year on year, helping Gansu's mechanical and electrical products and characteristic agricultural and food products to win competitive advantages in the markets of countries jointly building the "the Belt and Road" and RCEP member countries.

Lanzhou Customs also focuses on cultivating a healthy foreign trade ecosystem, strengthening cross departmental linkage, supporting the development of new formats such as cross-border e-commerce and market procurement trade, and exploring diversified export paths for private enterprises. From the export of precision electronic components from Tianshui to Southeast Asia, to the entry of new energy equipment from Jiuquan into the Central Asian market, the export matrix of private enterprises in Gansu is continuously expanding and upgrading towards high value-added fields.

From the Loess Plateau to the global market, private enterprises in Gansu are connecting the world with greater confidence. Lanzhou Customs will continue to focus on the needs of enterprises, deepen customs clearance reform, optimize the business environment, and provide better services to help private enterprises unleash their development vitality.
