Ningbo Daily: Cicheng rice cake launches end of year export, first batch supplied to Hong Kong market in China

Yesterday, a batch of "Tower Brand" rice cakes weighing two tons were successfully exported to the Hong Kong market after passing customs inspection, becoming the first batch of Ningbo Cicheng rice cakes to be exported at the end of this year. This batch of rice cakes strictly follows more than ten traditional processes such as soaking, water grinding, and pressing, and all of its raw materials are sourced from local rice planting cooperatives registered with customs.

The export volume of the company's rice cakes has increased from the initial 3 tons per year to over 670 tons this year, mainly sold to the Hong Kong market in China and deeply loved by local consumers.
The safety and traceability of raw materials are the cornerstone of ensuring the quality of rice cakes. Wang Jian, the head of the Inspection Department of Yongjiang Customs under Ningbo Customs, introduced that the customs have cultivated local rice planting cooperatives to become "export food record planting farms", consolidating the quality foundation from the source and achieving full chain quality assurance from the field to the export. We have been establishing a dedicated rice base since 2007, and now every raw material for exporting rice cakes comes from the local area of Cicheng, "said Cao Jianjun, the head of Xinggu Rice Professional Cooperative in Jiangbei District, who has been registered.
To continuously ensure the safety of raw materials, Yongjiang Customs has also established a team of plant quarantine experts to regularly supervise and inspect the environment, pest control, and quality management system of registered plantations, ensuring that they continue to meet export standards, "said Wang Jian.
According to data from Yongjiang Customs, approximately 730 tons of Cicheng rice cake were exported last year, and it is expected to export 750 tons this year.
