The 11th meeting of the China Malta Economic and Trade Cooperation Joint Committee was held in Beijing
On January 21st, Ling Ji, Deputy Minister of Commerce and Deputy Representative for International Trade Negotiations, and Kutaya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Tourism of Malta, co chaired the 11th meeting of the China Malta Economic and Trade Cooperation Mixed Committee in Beijing.
Ling Ji stated that in recent years, China Malaysia economic and trade cooperation has steadily and healthily developed, achieving fruitful results. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, China will firmly expand high-level opening-up to the outside world, and is willing to strengthen strategic docking with Malaysia, tap into cooperation potential, deepen cooperation in agricultural product trade, shipping, green energy, port logistics, tourism and other fields, and promote the healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations.
Kutaya stated that the Malaysian side attaches great importance to developing economic and trade relations with China and hopes to further expand exports of Maltese agricultural and fishery products to China. The Malaysian side welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Malaysia and is willing to deepen cooperation between the two countries in areas such as connectivity, cultural tourism, and new energy.
After the meeting, both parties signed the minutes of the mixed committee meeting, and the Transportation and Port Authority of Yangpu Economic Development Zone in Hainan Province and the Malta Free Port Company signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.
