From January to November, the import of dairy products in Fujian Province exceeded 10 billion yuan

Currently, high-quality dairy products from around the world have been integrated into various aspects of local life in Fujian. Room temperature milk and fresh cheese have become essential choices for children's nutritional supplements in families. Raw materials such as butter and cheese are widely used in the production of baked goods and coffee drinks, meeting the public's demand for diversified food and drink. According to Xiamen Customs statistics, from January to November, the import of dairy products in Fujian Province was 10.841 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.75%.

According to officials from Xiamen Customs, New Zealand has become the largest source of dairy imports in Fujian Province, thanks to the zero tariff policy on imported dairy products brought about by the upgrading of the China New Zealand Free Trade Agreement. From January to November, Fujian Province imported 9.867 billion yuan of dairy products from New Zealand, a year-on-year increase of 17.48%, accounting for 91.02% of Fujian Province's dairy product imports during the same period.

From the perspective of enterprise types, private enterprises are the "main force" in the import of dairy products in Fujian Province. From January to November, a total of 10.337 billion yuan of dairy products were imported, a year-on-year increase of 7.86 times, accounting for 95.35% of the total import value of dairy products in Fujian Province. Xiamen Tianchou Industrial Co., Ltd. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yuanchu Food in the agricultural and sideline food processing industry. "We import some types of dairy products such as whole milk and whole milk powder every year. From January to November, we imported nearly six million yuan worth of dairy products, which are deeply loved by local consumers," said Li Cangzhou, the port manager of Xiamen Tianchou Industrial Co., Ltd.

The categories of imported products clearly reflect the trend of dairy consumption in Fujian Province. Data shows that from January to November, the import of butter in Fujian Province was 3.589 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 34.38%, accounting for 33.11% of the total import value of dairy products in Fujian Province, reflecting the booming development trend of the baking industry in Fujian Province; Fresh cheese imports reached 1.343 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 32.17%, and processed cheese imports also reached 346 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 20.44%.

In order to accelerate and increase the efficiency of dairy product imports, Xiamen Customs has arranged dedicated personnel to guide dairy import enterprises in their jurisdiction to arrange import plans reasonably, ensuring that favorable policies are fully enjoyed by enterprises, and implementing facilitation measures such as "priority inspection" and "appointment clearance"; At the same time, we will strictly control safety and quality, standardize the approval procedures for entry quarantine, strengthen the review of hygiene certificates, certificates of origin, and testing reports for imported dairy products, and build a solid food safety barrier.
