Zhejiang Daily: Ningbo Xiangshan Port welcomes the first batch of live seafood, fresh sweet snow crabs, and fresh arrivals
Recently, a crab fishing boat from Zarubino Port in Russia slowly docked at Shipu New Port in Xiangshan under the guidance of a pilot. After 5 days of navigation, the boat carrying about 23 tons of live snow crabs successfully arrived. This is the first batch of live aquatic animals imported since the official opening of Ningbo Xiangshan Port in December last year, adding new options to the domestic fresh food market during the Spring Festival.
After the ship docks, multiple departments such as customs, border inspection, and maritime affairs jointly board the ship to simultaneously complete procedures such as infectious disease testing, cargo inspection, and personnel verification. Du Kaihuang, a police officer on duty at Xiangshan Border Inspection, introduced: "In the past, it took about 3 hours to conduct boarding inspections in batches, but this joint inspection only took 1 hour, saving the ship two hours of operation time and effectively ensuring the fresh arrival of aquatic products
Snow crab, also known as pine leaf crab, grows in the cold waters of the North Pacific and southern Arctic Ocean. It has become a high-end seafood treasure with slender claws and juicy crab meat. Due to its extremely high requirements for transportation and storage conditions, it is necessary to maintain a constant temperature of 1 to 4 degrees Celsius, continuous oxygen supply, and an environmental humidity of over 90% throughout the entire process.
To ensure the rapid release of these "Spring Festival gifts" into the market, Xiangshan Customs has opened a green channel for fresh product clearance, implemented a "pre declaration+24-hour appointment inspection" mechanism, and achieved "zero waiting" inspection and release of goods upon arrival at the port. The customs have already contacted the enterprise in advance, mastered the ship berthing plan, and synchronously completed the document review to ensure that fresh products are inspected and released immediately upon arrival, "said Xue Xinchun, Deputy Director of Xiangshan Customs.
