The number of inbound and outbound passengers at Yantai Airport will increase by 27% year-on-year in 2025

Recently, at the immigration inspection hall of Yantai Penglai International Airport, passengers of flight MU268 from Incheon, South Korea, who had just landed, were clearing customs in an orderly manner.

Nowadays, it is becoming increasingly convenient to travel to and from South Korea. The visa free policy eliminates the need for certificate processing, and there is almost no need to stop for "contactless inspection" during customs clearance. It only takes about ten minutes from getting off the plane to leaving the airport. "Mr. Zhang, a group tourist who completed registration in advance using the" Customs Passenger Fingertip Service "mini program, said that the visa free policy and the improvement of port intelligence have made it a reality to travel at will.

With the continuous expansion of China's visa free "circle of friends", the implementation of the 240 hour transit visa free policy and the South Korean government's trial of visa free entry policy for China, the inbound and outbound passenger business at Yantai Airport will reach a new high in 2025, with the number of inbound and outbound passengers exceeding 430000, a year-on-year increase of 27%.

It is reported that by 2025, Yantai Airport will open multiple routes to South Korea, Southeast Asia, Russia, and other destinations, with up to 96 round-trip passenger flights per week. At the same time, customs, airports, and airlines will continue to collaborate to optimize transit services, providing a more convenient travel experience for cross-border passengers.

Various favorable policies have driven steady growth in international airline passenger flow, and the overall passenger load factor will increase significantly compared to the previous year in 2025, especially during holidays and peak tourist seasons, where flight demand is very strong, "said Sun Gang, manager of China Eastern Airlines Yantai Branch.

To cope with the continuously increasing passenger flow and ensure efficient and smooth customs clearance, Yantai Customs, a subsidiary of Qingdao Customs, is promoting the construction of a smart customs and the "Smart Customs Strong Country" action. Through the comprehensive application of the "Smart Travel Inspection" system, integrating advanced machine inspection, intelligent map review, personnel clearance dynamic monitoring, and risk assessment technology, it achieves "seamless clearance" of normal luggage and effectively improves the clearance experience.

Faced with the increasing demand for international personnel exchanges, Yantai Customs will explore a new model that integrates intelligent supervision and optimized services, enhance on-site disposal and service capabilities, optimize customs clearance environment, and inject sustained momentum into the construction of Yantai Airport International Hub.
