Sichuan Daily: RCEP takes effect for 4 years, nearly 50 billion yuan worth of 'Made in Sichuan' products enjoy benefits
On January 16th, it was learned from Chengdu Customs that since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) came into effect on January 1, 2022, Chengdu Customs has issued a total of 12000 RCEP certificates of origin with a visa amount of 48.92 billion yuan over the past four years. Key advantageous industries such as lithium batteries, chemicals, and food in Sichuan have benefited significantly.
Recently, a batch of boiled mushrooms worth nearly 350000 yuan from Deyang Chengyi Food Co., Ltd. will be sent to overseas markets, and Chengdu Customs will quickly issue RCEP certificates of origin for the enterprise. With the RCEP certificate of origin, the company's boiled mushrooms can enjoy a 15.1 percentage point tariff reduction in the importing country. According to calculations, this batch of exported goods can enjoy a tariff reduction of over 50000 yuan.
In the field of lithium batteries, Chengdu Bamo Technology Co., Ltd. has benefited more. Bamo Technology is an important base for researching and producing new generation high-end lithium-ion battery materials, with many products exported globally. By 2025, the company will reduce tariffs by over 300 million yuan in RCEP countries using RCEP certificates of origin, and over the past four years, the reduction of tariffs will exceed 1.5 billion yuan.
RCEP is the free trade agreement with the largest number of participants, the largest economic and trade scale, and the greatest development potential in the world. In order to help enterprises fully enjoy the benefits of RCEP tariff concessions, Chengdu Customs has guided enterprises to fully understand and utilize RCEP rules of origin, and seize market opportunities in recent years. At the same time, we will comprehensively promote convenient measures such as "intelligent review+self-service printing" to help enterprises apply for certificates of origin without leaving their homes, reduce production costs, and become more competitive in the RCEP market. According to statistics, the number of RCEP certificates of origin issued by Chengdu Customs has increased from 2439 in 2022 to 3977 in 2025, with a year-on-year increase of 29.6% in visa volume in 2025.
