In 2026, the first China-Europe freight train from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area was dispatched

At the beginning of the new year, everything looks fresh and new. On the morning of January 1st, under the supervision of the customs officers from Zengcheng Customs, which is part of Huangpu Customs, the first China-Europe freight train of 2026 for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area departed from Zengcheng West Station, the eastern Guangzhou hub for combined railway and highway transportation. This train will exit the country via the Khorgos port and is expected to arrive in Malaszewicze, Poland, 14 days later.

This train carries a total of 110 standard containers, with a cargo value of approximately 20 million yuan, consisting of electronic products, daily necessities, textiles, clothing, and other goods manufactured in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Zengcheng West Station, as one of the important hubs connecting the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area with countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative, ranks among the top in terms of cargo volume in Guangdong Province. Currently, it has opened 14 outbound routes and 8 return routes, reaching 34 cities in 17 countries including Europe, Central Asia, and ASEAN.

To ensure the smooth departure of the first China-Europe freight train in the new year, Zengcheng Customs learned about the needs of enterprises in advance, established a "China-Europe freight train service window" covering the entire process of declaration, inspection, and release, and guided enterprises to make good use of convenience measures such as early declaration and customs clearance appointment, fully ensuring seamless connection in all aspects of freight train customs clearance supervision. At the same time, Zengcheng Customs vigorously promoted the application of the railway rapid customs clearance mode, achieving coordinated supervision between ports and local customs, with the overall customs clearance time being reduced by 2 days.

"With the strong support of customs, railway, and other departments, we have focused on enhancing the capacity of the freight trains, opened Guangzhou's first China-Europe e-commerce express line, launched the 'one-document system' and 'one-box system' 'China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan' rail-road intermodal freight trains, expanded the China-Russia freight train routes, and intensified efforts to cultivate the ASEAN freight trains," said Lin Yueyue, the person in charge of freight train operations at Guangzhou Transportation Investment International Freight Train Operation and Management Co., Ltd. "In the new year, we will accelerate the construction of the Guangzhou assembly center for China-Europe freight trains, continue to ensure the smooth flow of international logistics channels, and serve the high-quality development of foreign trade in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area."

Based on the new starting point, Zengcheng Customs will continue to optimize the business environment at the port, support the continuous expansion and improvement of the China-Europe freight trains at Zengcheng West Station, enhance the hub capacity, and assist more enterprises in expanding and jointly building the "the Belt and Road" market through international freight train logistics channels.
