On the coast of the Yellow Sea in Lianyungang, the faint morning light has coated the steel rails of the China Europe freight train with a metallic luster. In the exhibition hall of the Sino Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base, the light spots on the dynamic electronic map are beating in real time, recording the driving track of the steel dragon - under the precise supervision of Lianyungang Customs officers affiliated to Nanjing Customs, the international trains from here are going westward along the New Eurasian Continental Bridge, passing through Khorgos Port and heading for Kazakhstan and other Central Asian countries and regions.
As the first physical project to be launched under the "the Belt and Road" initiative, China Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) Logistics Cooperation Base will deliver 915 China Europe (Central Asia) trains in 2025, with a total volume of more than 75000 TEUs.
Starting from here, "Made in China" products such as electromechanical equipment, electronic products, and daily necessities are continuously transported to the Central Asian market; From here, Central Asian products such as ferroalloys and fertilizers set sail and entered the Pacific Ocean. To support the improvement and increment of the China Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics cooperation base, Lianyungang Customs relies on the pilot free trade zone to innovate regulatory models such as "bonded+export" container mixing and transit container "vehicle (station) direct pickup", accurately assisting the development of the sea land hub linkage of the China Kazakhstan Lianyungang logistics cooperation base, and continuously amplifying the advantages of the China Europe (Central Asia) train channel. Liu Guiming, the head of the Logistics Management Department of Lianyungang Customs, introduced, "We use information technology to connect the entire chain of customs transfer operations, achieve full coverage of paperless management, and with convenient measures such as' appointment processing 'at all times, ensure that goods arrive and are processed immediately, further improving the efficiency of train clearance
Using the 'ship to vehicle (station) direct pickup' mode, transit containers are directly lifted from the ship to the short haul truck and diverted to the China Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics cooperation base. Kong Xiangwei, Deputy General Manager of Lianyungang China Kazakhstan International Logistics Co., Ltd., introduced that this mode has achieved the non landing of containers from ship to vehicle, saving 75% of transit operation time and 60% of enterprise transportation, warehousing, loading and unloading costs.
Lianyungang Customs will continue to improve the functions of the port supervision platform system, continuously enhance the integrated supervision and electronicization level of multimodal transportation in the China Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics cooperation base, and help accelerate the cooperation and win-win situation of the China Europe (Central Asia) train.
