By 2025, the number of inbound and outbound personnel at the Shenzhen Airport port will reach a historic high
With the continuous expansion of China's visa free "circle of friends" and the introduction of convenient policies such as departure tax refunds and electronic payments, the demand for outbound tourism, business exchanges, and visiting relatives and friends continues to be released. In 2025, the cumulative number of inbound and outbound personnel at Shenzhen Airport port exceeded 6.7 million, a year-on-year increase of 22.3%, setting a new historical high since the opening of the port.
In response to the rapid increase in the number of inbound and outbound personnel, Shenzhen Customs continues to promote the construction of "smart travel inspection", launches the "Customs Comprehensive Transport Management Platform", implements the "one-time inspection" mode for outbound, introduces intelligent supervision equipment such as "one machine, dual gates, dual industrial computers" and "intelligent express cabinets for return", seamlessly integrates customs supervision into the entire process of passenger clearance, creates a "one-stop" service window, and optimizes the passenger clearance experience.
To further improve the efficiency of passenger clearance, we will collaborate with Shenzhen Airport Group to expand and upgrade the intelligent exit channel in September 2025, and officially launch the 'one machine, dual gates, and dual industrial control computers' equipment. Customs officers can dynamically adjust according to the peak passenger flow on site, and up to 10 inspection channels can be opened. Passengers can complete the pre check of checked baggage and exit health quarantine in as little as 5 seconds, "said Ma Yuanyuan, Deputy Director of the Customs Travel Inspection Department at Shenzhen Bao'an Airport.
At the same time, the constantly expanding aviation network provides passengers with more convenient choices for travel. Taking the popular Southeast Asian routes as an example, Shenzhen Airport currently operates flights to 9 countries and 27 destinations in Southeast Asia, with over 200 departing flights per week; Southeast Asian flights account for approximately 60% of daily international passenger flights.
With strong support from Shenzhen Customs, Shenzhen Airport has added and encrypted nearly 30 international passenger routes from Shenzhen to Male, Tokyo, Dubai, and other destinations by 2025. The route network has covered 61 cities worldwide, "said Zhang Zhe, Minister of Market Development at Shenzhen Airport. (Ye Junchao/Text)
