Beijing, December 29 (Xinhua) -- The Tariff Commission of the State Council issued a notice on December 29 to adjust the import tariff rates and items of some goods from January 1, 2026.

According to the attached "2026 Tariff Adjustment Plan" in the announcement, China will implement temporary import tariff rates lower than the most favored nation tariff rate for 935 goods in 2026. Among them, in order to promote high-level technological self-reliance and self-improvement, promote the construction of a modern industrial system, and reduce import tariffs on key components and advanced materials such as CNC hydraulic air cushions and special-shaped composite contact strips for press machines; Assist in promoting the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development, and reduce import tariffs on resource commodities such as recycled black powder for lithium-ion batteries and unburned pyrite; Intensify efforts to ensure and improve people's livelihoods, help accelerate the construction of a healthy China, and reduce import tariffs on medical products such as artificial blood vessels and diagnostic kits for some infectious diseases.

In addition, in order to enhance the endogenous driving force of the domestic circulation, based on the development of domestic industries and changes in supply and demand, within the scope of China's accession to the World Trade Organization commitments, the temporary import tax rates for micro motors, printing machines, sulfuric acid and other goods will be cancelled by 2026, and the most favored nation tax rate will be restored.

In order to serve technological development and progress, support the development of circular economy and forest economy, domestic sub items such as intelligent bionic robots, bio aviation kerosene, and forest ginseng will be added in 2026. After adjustment, the total number of tariff items is 8972.

In order to continuously deepen economic and trade cooperation and promote regional integration and development, in 2026, according to the 24 free trade agreements and preferential trade arrangements signed with 34 trading partners, we will continue to implement agreed tariff rates on some imported goods originating from the aforementioned trading partners.

In order to promote economic and trade cooperation with the least developed countries and help them develop, we will continue to grant 100% tariff free treatment to 43 least developed countries that have established diplomatic relations with us in 2026; According to the Asia Pacific Trade Agreement and the exchange of letters between me and the governments of relevant ASEAN member countries, we will continue to implement preferential tax rates on some imported goods originating from Bangladesh, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
