On the morning of December 24th, accompanied by a long whistle, a freight train loaded with 24 containers, 450 tons, and more than 3.5 million yuan worth of flowers and vegetable seeds sailed towards Europe through the Western Land Sea New Corridor.

The flowers and vegetable seeds shipped this time are exported through the Western Land Sea New Channel's rail sea intermodal train, which significantly shortens the entire transportation time and reduces logistics costs compared to traditional transportation methods, effectively enhancing the competitiveness of seed products from Jiuquan and even Gansu in the international market. The opening of this channel not only alleviates the logistics pressure for enterprises, but also builds a bridge between Gansu and the "the Belt and Road" countries to deepen agricultural cooperation and promote seed industry exchanges, injecting new impetus into the integration of "sweet" agricultural products into the global industry chain and boosting the revitalization of China's seed industry.

In order to ensure the smooth operation of trains and the rapid clearance of seeds, Jiuquan Customs actively meets the needs of enterprises, implements a "7 × 24 hour" appointment inspection mechanism, and inspectors come to inspect, sample and send goods for inspection in the first time, compresses the operation time, innovatively adopts the "small batch goods centralized inspection" mode, efficiently applies the "cloud issuance" function, realizes the "instant reporting, instant review, and instant signing" of inspection and quarantine certificates, and the whole process is "one-stop", which improves the efficiency of supervision and clearance and ensures the timely shipment of trains.

Weng Huanmin, the head of Jiuquan Customs, said: "Jiuquan Customs will continue to focus on the distinctive industries in its jurisdiction, deepen the cooperation between customs and local areas, continue to optimize the regulatory service model, and support more 'sweet' agricultural products and local high-quality goods to go global through the logistics arteries of the 'the Belt and Road' such as the China Europe Express, the Western Land and Sea New Channel, with a more intelligent, efficient and convenient customs clearance environment."
