The US ITC has officially launched a 337 investigation into semiconductor devices and their downstream computing products and components

On December 16, 2025, the United States International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to initiate a 337 investigation (investigation code: 337-TA-1465) into Certain Semiconductor Devices, Computing Products Containing the Same, and Components There.

On November 17, 2025, Adeia, Inc. of San Jose, California, Adeia Semiconductor Bonding Technologies, Inc. of San Jose, California, and Adeia Holdings Inc. of San Jose, California filed a 337 investigation application with the US ITC, claiming that the product exported to, imported into, and sold in the United States violated US Section 337 (infringing US registered patents 11978681, 12199069, 12322650, 12381173), and requested the US ITC to issue a limited exclusion order or injunction.

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc., Santa Clara, California, China, Lenovo Information Products (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., Shenzhen, Guangdong, China, Lenovo (United States) Inc., Morrisville, North Carolina, Lenovo Group Limited, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong SAR, and Super Micro Computer, Inc., San Jose, California are listed as defendants.

The US International Trade Commission will determine the end date of the investigation within 45 days after filing the case. Except in cases where the United States Trade Representative vetoes a relief order based on policy reasons, the relief order issued by the United States International Trade Commission in the 337 case shall take effect from the date of issuance and shall have final effect on the 60th day after the date of issuance.
