Li Chenggang, International Trade Negotiator and Deputy Minister, Attended the Promotion Meeting for the Construction of the China Cooperation Center in the BRICS Special Economic Zone

On December 15th, the construction promotion meeting of the China Cooperation Center for the BRICS Special Economic Zone (hereinafter referred to as the BRICS Center) was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. Li Chenggang, International Trade Negotiator and Deputy Minister of Commerce, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

  We must conscientiously implement and strive to build the BRICS Center into an important platform for deepening BRICS economic and trade cooperation in the new era and promoting the construction of an open world economy. We need to further enhance our political stance and carry out the construction of the BRICS Center with a high sense of responsibility and urgency.

Li Chenggang pointed out that 2026 is the starting year of the 15th Five Year Plan, and the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China has made a strategic deployment of "expanding high-level opening up to the outside world and creating a new situation of win-win cooperation". The BRICS Center should conscientiously implement the spirit of the plenary session, adhere to serving the national strategy, adhere to pragmatic economic and trade cooperation, adhere to openness, inclusiveness and win-win results, continuously improve the work promotion mechanism, accelerate the construction of international and domestic cooperation networks, focus on playing an important role in promoting BRICS economic and trade cooperation through special economic zones, promote the common development of BRICS members, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

Vice Governor Lu Shan of Zhejiang Province and Mayor Yao Gaoyuan of Hangzhou attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The BRICS Center was launched in Hangzhou, Zhejiang in March 2025, dedicated to building a special economic zone cooperation network with BRICS member countries and partner countries.
