Economic Daily client: The cross-border freight channel at Huanggang Port, which has been in operation for 36 years, has come to an end

At 23:58 on December 20th, the cargo site at Huanggang Port in Shenzhen was brightly lit. Under the efficient supervision of Huanggang Customs, the last cross-border truck slowly headed towards Shenzhen. On December 21st at midnight, the cross-border freight channel of Huanggang Port on the banks of the Shenzhen River was officially closed. This is the first 24-hour customs clearance highway port in China that has witnessed 36 years of wind and rain, bidding farewell to freight business. With the end of the freight function, a new pattern of "East in East out, West in West out" cross-border logistics between Shenzhen and Hong Kong has basically taken shape.

On the first day of diversion, land ports such as Shenzhen Bay, Liantang, and Wenjindu that undertake freight diversion presented a busy and orderly scene. In the inspection channel of Shenzhen Bay Port, the guiding voice of "Hello, please stop at Import Inspection Station No. 5 for inspection" came clearly. Customs officers were politely guiding freight drivers to stop and handle procedures, while patiently answering their questions about the new port clearance process. Under the orderly guidance of customs officers, vehicles loaded with goods smoothly passed inspection and headed towards Shenzhen and Hong Kong, with the entire customs clearance process being efficient and smooth.

To ensure the smooth implementation of diversion, Shenzhen Customs has made precise preparations several months in advance, reversed the schedule, and pushed forward various tasks. After multiple rounds of evaluation and calculation, we coordinated the selection of inspection and emergency personnel to ensure sufficient manpower on site. We conducted multiple rounds of inspection and debugging of all facilities and equipment to ensure the efficient operation of inspection work after diversion. "Chen Duo, Deputy Director of the Port Supervision Department of Shenzhen Customs, introduced that in order to enable enterprises to achieve a" seamless "transition, Shenzhen Customs focuses on key tax source enterprises and transportation enterprises. Through holding customs enterprise symposiums, establishing a" point-to-point "communication mechanism, setting up service windows and other measures, we accurately interpret diversion policies, customs clearance processes and precautions; Combining the layout of import and export freight supervision sites, optimizing channel settings and driving routes, scientifically planning the passage path based on the characteristics of goods and transportation needs, and significantly improving the smoothness of customs clearance.

Huanggang Port has witnessed my growth. I have been involved in cross-border freight transportation for over 10 years and have a deep emotional attachment to this place. At first, I was worried that it would be difficult to adapt to the new port, but I didn't expect the customs guidance to be so considerate. The new port has advanced facilities and reasonable routes, making it smoother and faster than before! "Exclaimed Huang Qingsheng, a driver from Hong Kong Jungangtong Logistics Co., Ltd.

Tang Li, General Manager of Langhua Supply Chain Operations, introduced that the customs' early preparation and on-site guidance were very effective, allowing the company to quickly adapt to the new customs clearance environment on the first day of diversion. This not only improves the transportation efficiency of the enterprise, but also reduces logistics costs, which is a great benefit for the enterprise.

Chen Duo stated that Shenzhen Customs will continue to track the business operation situation of Huanggang Port after the diversion of freight, focus on enterprise issues and demands, and inject strong customs momentum into the high-quality development of cross-border logistics between Shenzhen and Hong Kong by improving the refinement and intelligence of regulatory services.
