On December 23rd, at the outbound fruit packaging factory in Longling County, Baoshan City, Yunnan Province, workers packaged a batch of fresh avocados weighing 832 kilograms. After careful verification of the labels and other information on the fruit boxes by Tengchong Customs officers under Kunming Customs, the batch of avocados was exported to Malaysia by land to air transportation.

Baoshan Longling is located in the hot and dry valley of the Nujiang River, with abundant heat and precipitation, providing superior natural conditions for avocado cultivation. Since the beginning of the 21st century, avocados originating from South America, Africa and other places have been successfully planted in Baoshan. Up to now, more than 5000 acres of standardized planting bases have been built in the area, and an industrial system integrating seedling cultivation, planting, processing and sales has been established. Avocados have evolved from "imported goods" crossing the ocean to "foreign trade goods" in the western Yunnan River Valley, not only adding deliciousness to international consumers' dining tables, but also becoming the "golden fruit" for local people to increase their income and become prosperous.

In the past, we mainly supplied the domestic market. After learning that Southeast Asian countries have market potential, we successfully exported avocados to Singapore last year and Malaysia this year, expanding our overseas sales channels, "said Wang Zhizhe, a legal representative of Yunnan Bafang Agricultural Technology Development Co., Ltd.

To facilitate the smooth export of Yunnan avocados, Tengchong Customs has taken the initiative to provide advanced services, extending supervision to orchards and packaging factories, conducting regular visits, guiding enterprises to improve pest monitoring and pesticide and fertilizer management, establish a sound quality management system and traceability mechanism, and ensure that avocado quality meets standards from the source. At the same time, in response to the short shelf life and fixed flight schedules of fresh products, we will optimize the customs clearance processes such as declaration, inspection, and visa supervision, guide enterprises to use customs clearance facilitation measures such as "advance declaration", and effectively ensure the quality of fresh fruits and international market competitiveness.
