Chinese Ambassador to the United States: Two major background plates bring new important opportunities for the development of China US economic and trade relations
Washington, December 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng was invited to attend the China US Economic and Trade Cooperation Forum jointly organized by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the Meridian International Center on December 4 and delivered a speech. Xie Feng stated that to view and develop the economic and trade relations between China and the United States in the new era, we must grasp two major background plates.
Xie Feng pointed out that the first background board: frequent interactions between the two heads of state provide strategic guidance for China US relations. The heads of China and the United States successfully met in Busan and spoke again. The diplomacy of the head of state will continue to play a "star setting" role in China US relations. The second background board: The "15th Five Year Plan" proposal outlines a grand blueprint for China's economic and social development in the next five years. China will continue to march on the road to Chinese path to modernization, and this momentum will not be reversed or stopped. He stated that these two background plates bring new important opportunities for the development of China US economic and trade relations.
Xie Feng suggested that the business communities of China and the United States should focus on three lists to seize opportunities, namely, expanding the dialogue list, in conjunction with the hosting of APEC and G20 meetings by China and the United States respectively next year. Support the two governments and various sectors to move around and travel more frequently. The second is to continuously expand the cooperation list. To promote more practical cooperation projects in strategic emerging industries, service industries, and other fields, the United States should provide a fair, just, and non discriminatory environment for Chinese enterprises to invest and operate in the United States. The third is to constantly compress the list of problems. Urge some American politicians to stop pouring dirty water and labeling China, injecting positive energy into Sino US economic and trade relations instead of creating new interference.
The forum was held in Washington D.C., USA, with speeches delivered by the President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Ren Hongbin, former US Secretary of Commerce, Gutierrez, and Chief Operating Officer of Meridian International Center, Jones. More than 100 representatives from the Chinese and American business communities attended.
