Zhanjiang Bay No.1 Embarks on a New Journey of Deep Sea Intelligent Aquaculture

Recently, the world's first floating dynamic positioning aquaculture cage type factory ship test platform "Zhanjiang Bay No. 1" docked at Zhanjiang Merchants International Cruise Terminal after several months of trial voyage. Overlooking the entire platform, 12 independent breeding farm compartments and 8 sets of feed tanks are neatly arranged, waiting for fish fry to enter the compartments. This "Sea Mobile Ranch" independently developed by Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory was officially delivered for use on November 19th, embarking on a new journey of intelligent aquaculture in deep and distant seas.  
It is reported that "Zhanjiang Bay No.1" integrates automation, intelligence, and informatization, equipped with advanced intelligent control systems such as green energy supply, full electric propulsion, power positioning, feed feeding, and breeding monitoring.
In response to the technical challenges faced by the laboratory in the early stages of research and development, such as the adaptability of the ship to special environments and the stability of the dynamic positioning system, as well as the import demand for some equipment, Xiahai Customs under Zhanjiang Customs intervened in advance, formed an expert team to provide policy guidance and tax reduction declaration services, opened a "green channel" for tax reduction and exemption of scientific research equipment imports, and introduced policy based guarantee release, pre audit, release with guarantee, and tax refund with exemption form. A total of 46 batches of imported R&D equipment were exempted from taxes by more than 3 million yuan.  
In addition, in response to the platform's dual-mode aquaculture characteristics of full sea cruising and fixed mooring, Xiahai Customs has taken measures such as dynamic reporting and quarterly centralized declaration to flexibly carry out follow-up management of ship borne mobile scientific research and tax reduction equipment.  
The application of these imported equipment helps to overcome technical difficulties, improve design accuracy and efficiency, and lay a solid technical foundation for the smooth progress of research and development, "said Zeng Shuibing, the head of the scientific research department of Zhanjiang Bay Laboratory.
