The new version of the China Russia bilateral investment agreement officially came into effect on December 1st


On December 1st, the new version of the "Agreement between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Russian Federation on the Promotion and Mutual Protection of Investment" officially came into effect.

The governments of China and Russia signed a bilateral investment agreement in 2006. In order to create a more stable, fair, transparent, and predictable business environment for Chinese and Russian investors and their investments, the two sides launched negotiations to upgrade the bilateral investment agreement in 2022 and signed a new version on May 8, 2025.
