Weishan Lake Live Eel Debuts on Korean Table
Recently, the first batch of 160 kilograms of live eels from Nansihu Fishery Co., Ltd. in Weishan County, Jining City, Shandong Province were inspected and found to be qualified by Jining Customs under Qingdao Customs. They were then shipped from Qingdao Port and successfully exported to South Korea. This marks the zero breakthrough of Weishan Lake eel's "going out to sea", and the local characteristic aquatic animal industry has officially entered the international market.
Previously, I had only a partial understanding of the testing standards and declaration process in South Korea, but I never dared to take a step forward when I wanted to export, "said An Long, the head of the company, when talking about the process of going abroad for the first time." Customs not only conducted policy interpretation on-site, but also provided strong guidance in key areas such as disease testing and veterinary drug residue control, which enabled us to successfully enter the South Korean market
In order to support the smooth opening of the South Korean market for Weishan Lake eels, Jining Customs took the initiative to provide advanced services and organized business backbones to conduct in-depth research on the regulatory requirements for the import of aquatic animals in South Korea. They provided full process guidance on policy interpretation, quality and safety control, and traceability system construction based on enterprise needs. At the same time, in conjunction with the Qingdao Customs Technical Center, precise docking of testing standards is carried out to efficiently complete sampling and testing of aquatic animal diseases and drug residues, ensuring that the products meet the market access requirements of South Korea.
Considering the perishable nature of live eels, Jining Customs has specially opened a "Green Channel for Local Inspection of Fresh and Perishable Agricultural and Food Products", implementing convenient measures such as priority inspection and "5+2" appointment inspection, to achieve "inspection upon report and release upon inspection".
From policy guidance to fast customs clearance, the efficient service throughout the entire chain not only ensures the fresh quality of eel exports, but also paves the way for Weishan Lake's fresh aquatic products to "swim" to overseas dining tables. (Wei Enlightenment, Liang Chengbiao/Text)
