Recently, customs officers at Shijiazhuang Airport, under the jurisdiction of Shijiazhuang Customs, discovered abnormal machine inspection images of two parcels declared as "T-shirts" during the supervision of inbound express shipments. After on-site unpacking and inspection, it was found that the package contained two suspected ivory products, namely the image ornaments of He Xiangu and Shouxian Weng Xianren. According to professional appraisal, both items are made of fresh ivory and weigh a total of 1.47 kilograms. At present, the case has been transferred for further disposal.
Customs Reminder: According to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora and the Regulations on the Administration of Import and Export of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora of the People's Republic of China, any trade method or the act of carrying or mailing endangered species and their products into or out of the country is illegal, except for legally holding the "Permit for Import and Export Certificate" issued by the national endangered species import and export management agency and handling customs procedures in accordance with regulations.
