Berlin, November 19 (Xinhua) -- Data released by the German Federal Statistical Office on the 19th showed that from January to September 2025, Germany's trade volume with China reached 185.9 billion euros (1 euro is about 1.16 US dollars), a year-on-year increase of 0.6%. China has once again become Germany's largest trading partner.
Statistics show that in the first three quarters of this year, Germany's imports from China amounted to 124.5 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%. In terms of product categories, the fastest growing imports include electrical equipment, clothing, and machinery. During the same period, Germany's exports to China amounted to 61.4 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 12.3%.
Statistics also show that in the first three quarters, the trade volume between Germany and the United States was 184.7 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 3.9%. Among them, Germany's exports to the United States amounted to 112.7 billion euros, a year-on-year decrease of 7.8%; The import value from the United States was 71.9 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 2.8%.
The German Federal Statistical Office stated that currently, weak global demand, complex trade environment, and adjustments in traditional advantageous industries such as automobiles are the main factors affecting Germany's foreign trade structure.
According to data from the agency, China has maintained its position as Germany's largest trading partner from 2016 to 2023. In 2024, the United States will become Germany's largest trading partner.
