India makes its first anti-dumping sunset review final ruling on Malaysian float glass

On November 6, 2025, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued an announcement, making a positive final ruling on the first anti-dumping sunset review of Clear Float Glass originating from or imported from Malaysia. It is recommended to continue imposing anti-dumping duties for a period of 5 years, with the tax amount being the difference between the landed value of the imported goods (provided it is lower than the minimum price) and the minimum price. The minimum price for the producer Kibing Group (M) Sdn. Bnd. is $366/ton, and the minimum price for other Malaysian producers is $374/ton. The product in question is float glass with a thickness ranging from 4 millimeters to 12 millimeters, involving products under Indian customs code 7005.

On August 23, 2019, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a statement stating that Indian companies should Saint-Gobain India Pvt Ltd.、Sisecam Flat Glass India Ltd.、Gold Plus Glass Industries Ltd. Joint application submitted with Asahi India Glass Ltd. to initiate anti-dumping investigation on float glass originating from or imported from Malaysia. On August 20, 2020, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry made a positive final ruling on the case. On November 11, 2020, the Revenue Department of the Indian Ministry of Finance issued Notice No. 30/2020 Custods (ADD), deciding to impose anti-dumping duties on Malaysia's float glass with a thickness of 4 millimeters to 12 millimeters. The tax amount is the difference between the declared price of imported goods and the minimum price, which is 273.12-326.00 US dollars/ton. The measure is valid for 5 years and will expire on November 10, 2025.

On March 27, 2025, the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued a notice stating that domestic enterprises in India should Asahi India Glass Ltd.、Gold Plus Glass Industry Ltd.、Gold Plus Float Glass Pvt. Ltd. And the application submitted by Saint Gobain India Pvt. Ltd. to initiate the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation on float glass originating from or imported from Malaysia. The dumping investigation period of the case is from October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024 (12 months), and the injury investigation period is from 2021 to 2022, 2022 to 2023, 2023 to 2024, and October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024.
