The fifth meeting of the Joint Committee of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Agreement between China and the Eurasian Economic Union was held in Moscow, Russia
On November 12th, the fifth meeting of the Joint Committee of the Economic and Trade Cooperation Agreement between China and the Eurasian Economic Union was held in Moscow, Russia. The meeting was co chaired by Yan Dong, Deputy Minister of Commerce, and Slepnev, Trade Commissioner of the Eurasian Economic Commission.
Yan Dong stated that in October of this year, the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China passed the proposal to formulate the "15th Five Year Plan", which outlined a grand blueprint for China's future development and will continue to provide stable, reliable, and positive Chinese strength for world development. The leaders of China and the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union attach great importance to the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the construction of the Eurasian Economic Union, pointing out the direction for further improving the development of bilateral economic and trade relations. Both sides positively evaluated the achievements made in the implementation of the Agreement since the fourth Joint Committee meeting, fully affirmed the important role of the Agreement in maintaining the stability and resilience of bilateral economic and trade cooperation in the face of many challenges in global trade, and expressed their willingness to jointly continue to solidly promote the implementation of the Agreement, further tap the potential of economic and trade cooperation, enhance the breadth and depth of economic and trade cooperation between China and the Eurasian Economic Union and its member states, and promote the level of economic and trade cooperation between the two sides to a new level.
The meeting reviewed the implementation of the "China Eurasia Economic Union Economic and Trade Cooperation Plan (Roadmap)", exchanged in-depth views on topics such as trade remedies, cooperation in technical regulations, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, customs cooperation and trade facilitation, multilateral trading system, cooperation in competition and government procurement, and departmental cooperation, and discussed the next steps of work arrangements.
Representatives from the Eurasian Economic Commission and member countries such as Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Commerce, China State Railway Corporation, and the Chinese Embassy in Russia, attended the conference.
