2025 "the Belt and Road" Trade and Investment Forum Held in Beijing

People's Daily Online, Beijing, November 11 (Reporter Li Qiaochu) On November 7, the 2025 "the Belt and Road" Trade and Investment Forum hosted by the China International Chamber of Commerce was held in Beijing, and more than 400 political, business and academic representatives from 44 countries, including business association leaders, ambassadors to China, attended the forum.

Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and President of the China Chamber of International Commerce, said in his speech at the opening ceremony that the business community is a new force to jointly build the "the Belt and Road" and hopes that the business community will become a practitioner of win-win cooperation, an advocate of openness and inclusiveness, and a builder of connectivity. The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the China Chamber of International Commerce will further improve the economic and trade cooperation mechanism of jointly building the "the Belt and Road", help enterprises improve the quality and efficiency of practical cooperation, and make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of jointly building the "the Belt and Road".

As the world's most extensive and largest international cooperation platform, the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" has achieved a historic leap from bilateral to multilateral, and from regional to global. Together, the joint construction countries account for more than 40% of the global GDP. Data shows that from January to September this year, the trade volume of goods between China and the co built countries reached 1.737 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.2%, accounting for 51.7% of China's total trade volume. Non financial direct investment in the co built countries reached 215 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.7%. The cumulative operation of China Europe freight trains has exceeded 110000.

Ren Hongbin said that in recent years, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) has mobilized the strength of the national trade promotion system and organized more than 1000 groups to visit the co construction countries in ASEAN, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, Central and Eastern Europe and other regions every year. In particular, many small and medium-sized enterprises have returned with the group. He hoped that friends from the business community would continue to actively participate in the co construction of the "the Belt and Road" economic and trade cooperation, expand new space for cooperation in green development, artificial intelligence, digital economy and other fields, find more points of convergence of interests, and make a development cake of mutual benefit and win-win results.

The conference also held activities such as the signing ceremony of new members of the Silk Road Business Council, the promotion of the 4th China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo, the promotion of co built countries, the sharing of Silk Road cases, and special seminars.
